FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON!!

Since getting promoted to the Women's Elite Division in Spain, my team was yet to win a game until the night of January 23rd 2016!

Saturday was a huge day for our team. Going into the game we were placed last on the table. We were about to verse CHL Meigas Lugo - this team was placed second to last. We had one point from our overtime loss, and they had three points from beating us earlier in the season (5-1). As we were starting to warm-up I could see the stands filling and my nerves were only getting shakier. I hadn't been nervous about a hockey game in a few months so it definitely took me by surprise. I knew the importance of this game - it would play a big part in the outcome of the season and our teams future in this division. We dominated the whole first half and by half-time we lead 1-0. Early in the second half I managed to put my second goal on the board to take the game to 2-0. With six minutes to go, Meigas scored to bring the game back to a one goal difference. The last six minutes were now extremely crucial and we could not afford to give up a goal. We managed to kill off the rest of the game and take the win! My team played exceptionally well and we deserved to take the three points from that game. The crowd was absolutely incredible, I've never had a crowd like it. Their support definitely played a part in our success. We are now sitting with 4 points - out of the drop zone.

Our next games are February 6/7 in Barcelona! We have two games. On Saturday we play against CHL Jujol and on Sunday we verse SAB Tucans ASME. I'll let you know how we get on!
