After I arrived back in Aranda de Duero it was straight back into it with two games in my first weekend here!
Our first game was on Saturday night against Barcelona Tsunamis, a team we lost to 14-3 at the beginning of the season when I was not here. At the end of regular time the game was tied 4-4. It was a goal for goal game and we were lucky enough to have a lot of support from the crowd. After a five minute overtime the score still remained even. Unfortunately, we lost by one goal in the shootout but because we took the game to overtime we gained one point from the game. It was our teams first point of the season, so we were all very stoked about that! It was the closest game we have had this season, and the crowd was amazing. All of our supporters were chanting our team name at multiple times throughout the game. It was unlike anything I have experienced before but it was an incredible feeling!
On Sunday we versed another Barcelona team, Rubi. This game was a bit tougher and we ended up losing 9-2. I recognised a few of their players from 2014 FIRS World Championships in Toulouse, France. They were a good team, with a lot of experienced players. Even though we lost both games, overall the weekend was very enjoyable. I've started to connect with my team more and I've learned a little bit more Spanish so I can communicate with my team on the rink better! I'm already looking forward to the next game, 23rd January against CHL JUJOL! The statistics from the league can be found here. I currently have 8 goals from 3 games played :)
