Spanish Debut

I landed in Madrid a few days ahead of the game to meet my new team and train with the girls.
The game was definitely a step up to any women's games I had played in before. The opposition was full of very talented female players and I could tell from the first puck drop that it was going to be a challenging game. They are one of the top teams in the league and my team is very young. In Spain they play FIRS rules, and the goals are a little smaller than what I am used to. I managed to get three goals in the game, and the crowd was chanting my name. It was definitely a surreal experience and unlike anything I had experienced before. Unfortunately it wasn't enough and we went down 3-12, but we showed that we can score against the best so it gave our young team a lot of faith for future games. We play again in the new year and hopefully we can get our first win of the season.
